Gita Flow does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and stores all your reading data locally on your device.
Gita Flow ("we," "our," or "the app") is a mobile application that helps you explore the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Gita Flow on iOS, Android, or web platforms.
By using Gita Flow, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

If you enable daily reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to our servers or any push notification service. You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings or through your device's system settings.
The app uses your device's vibration motor to provide tactile feedback on certain interactions. This can be toggled off in Settings and does not involve any data collection.
Gita Flow uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate verse commentary and interpretive content. No user data is sent to this service — only chapter and verse metadata (public domain text from the Bhagavad Gita) is used for content generation. This processing occurs on our servers, and no personally identifiable information is involved.
The app provides options to send feedback or support requests. When you use these features, the app opens your device's native email client with a pre-filled recipient address (anand@gitaflow.com) and subject line. You control whether to send the email and what content to include. We do not collect, store, or access your email address through this feature — your email is sent directly from your email client to ours.
Gita Flow allows you to share verse quotes as images or text using your device's native sharing functionality. Sharing is entirely user-initiated, and no data is sent to our servers as part of this feature. The shared content is handled by the apps and services you choose to share with.
Since your personal data (reading progress, notes, highlights, bookmarks) is stored exclusively on your device, the security of this data is managed by your device's operating system and security measures. We recommend:

Gita Flow is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect personal information from any user, there is no mechanism through which such data could be gathered from a child. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and the right to object to or restrict processing of your personal data. Since Gita Flow does not collect or process personal data on our servers, these rights are exercised through your local device controls.
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information. Gita Flow does not sell or share personal information. Since we do not collect personal information on our servers, you can manage all your data locally through the app's Settings.
All user-generated data (reading progress, highlights, notes, bookmarks, streaks, and preferences) is stored locally on your device and is retained until you explicitly delete it using "Reset All Progress" or uninstall the app. We do not retain any user data on our servers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and make the revised policy available within the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
